Terms of Reference
1. To honour the work of CMOS members and
others through the adjudication of the following prizes and awards:
a. President's Prize
b. J. P. Tully Medal in Oceanography
c. Dr. Andrew Thomson Prize in Applied
Meteorology
d. François J. Saucier Prize in
Applied Oceanography
e. Rube Hornstein Medal in Operational
Meteorology
f. Roger Daley Postdoctoral Publication
Award
g. Tertia M. C. Hughes Graduate Student
Prize
h. Neil J. Campbell Medal for Exceptional
Volunteer Service
i. Citations
2. To recommend the recipients of these prizes
to the CMOS Council by submitting a report to the CMOS Executive Director
by March 15th.
Mode of Operation: The Committee
will normally work and meet by e-mail and will hold at least one teleconference
per year. It may also appoint ad hoc working or study groups as required.
Membership and Terms of Office:
There shall be 5 or more members of the committee, each appointed for a
three-year term with the option to renew.
Committee Level: This is a Council-appointed
Committee.
Report: The Committee will present
Council with their recommendations for prizes and awards at the appropriate
Council meeting during March-May. The Committee will produce an annual
report in accordance with Appendix III to the By-Laws.
