Recently, the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (AMOS) authored a Position Statement on International Cooperation and Data Sharing in Meteorology and Oceanography, outlining nine actions to ensure that Australia remains at the forefront of its own weather, climate and ocean services and that it continues meaningful contributions to international efforts as well. The CMOS Science Committee endorses this statement, recognizing similarities in both national and international issues as they relate to the Canadian meteorology and oceanography communities, and in calling for similar actions to strengthen data sharing and cooperation.
